Though we now have a unique store phone number (630.784.2890) which is different from the number you call to schedule a donation pickup (630.337.1467) - it’s not unusual for me to get calls on the donation number asking about store hours and such. I’m happy to answer any questions I can (which would be just about any general question about location, hours, forms of payment – it’s specific “do you have?” or “do you still have?” questions when I have to refer the caller to someone at the store) – but it reminded me that, occasionally, I should provide some store information on the weekly update post.
So, here goes:
- Store hours: Thursdays & Fridays from 1 to 8 and Saturdays from 9 to 4
- Store location: 730 E. North Ave., Carol Stream, IL 60188
- Forms of payment: VISA, MasterCard, Discover and cash
- Are “holds” allowed? No. But once purchased you have one week to pick up your furniture
- Delivery offered? Yes, for a charge based on distance from the store and number of items being delivered. Starting fee is $40 and we provide “curb side” delivery only
- Can I return an item if it doesn’t work out? No. All sales are final
- Where does the money from what I purchase go? 100% of our proceeds are helping to support the programs and services offered through Outreach Community Ministries (a not-for-profit, family of faith-based, community service organizations serving DuPage County)
- Why is everyone at the store so friendly? Because we like you – that’s why! Our staff and volunteers thoroughly enjoy working with you and truly want to make your shopping experience a positive one!
- What might I find at the store today? Excellent question – let’s take a look at SOME of the furniture which was donated this week!

I think this style of coffee table is so amazing! Top lifts up so folks sitting on the sofa have a perfect place to set drinks or plates – priced $65
Bauhaus two piece sectional – a little worn and it needs to be cleaned – priced $55
gorgeous Bassett mission style buffet and two piece lighted china cabinet – both in excellent condition – the buffet is priced $315 and the china cabinet is $495
another sofa by Walter E. Smithe – this one is in great condition but, obviously, a dated style (though I really like it) priced only $95
very attractive Temple Stuart two piece lighted china cabinet (sorry the first photo is so awful) – priced $175
man-oh-man look at this Henry Link sheaf of wheat glass top pedestal table with four chairs. The cushions need to be cleaned but otherwise it’s in excellent condition (sorry, the fourth chair is covered with a tarp in these photos). I especially love the design of the pedestal base through the glass top. Priced $385 (here’s the same set – with different colored cushions – listed on ebay for $592)
