Welcome! And thanks for stopping by the Jubilee Furniture blog where I – Susan Galbraith, General Manager – showcase some of the new-to-us furniture which has been donated this past week. With 30,000 square feet of warehouse space – the following photos are a small amount of our inventory.
As hard as it is to believe – we’re only open two days each week: Fridays from 1 to 8 and Saturdays from 9 to 4. There’s a long back-story as to why – and truthfully it’s pretty boring, so I won’t go into it.
Jubilee Furniture is located in the Wheaton Christian Center building which is on the southeast corner of North Ave. and Schmale Road in Carol Stream (exact address is 610 E. North Ave. Carol Stream, IL 60188). The church bought an old Kmart – so you’re looking for a large, flat-roofed building and it’s set back from North Ave. by a huge parking lot. The entrance to the store is under the “Ch” of “Christian” as you’re looking at the building.
Any one and everyone is invited to stop in and browse and if that browsing turns into you purchasing something – even better! We allow sold merchandise to remain in the store for two weeks from date of purchase – since often customers need to make special arrangements to pick it up. Or, if you’ve come prepared to take it home immediately – we can accommodate that too! With fabulous warehouse people and special twine and plastic to cover items – we’ll help make sure whatever you buy is secure before you drive off.
Speaking of picking up – we do offer delivery (on Saturdays only and there are occasional black out Saturdays when I don’t have anyone to drive the truck – sorry!) and the cost to deliver depends on how far from the store the piece is going. If we’re delivering 5 miles or less the cost is $35 – add an additional $15 for every 5 miles and we don’t deliver into Chicago (again, sorry). The other important delivery piece is Jubilee Furniture does not bring the furniture into your home. It’s what’s called curb delivery (though we would place it in your garage).
We staff the store primarily with volunteers to keep our cost as low as possible so more of our profit is funneling back to support the programs and services at Outreach Community Ministries. Check out Outreach’s website to learn more about who we are and what we do.
We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover in addition to cash and Carol Stream sales tax is currently 8%. All sales are final.
With our store hours already so limited, we try to be open every Friday/Saturday and looking out over the next couple of months – no major holiday falls on a Friday or Saturday – so we will be open our normal hours through the end of the year including the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving (which – oh my goodness! – is next week!).
So, again – here are some photos of the amazing, wonderful, fabulous, gorgeous furniture which was donated this week:
fabulous oak farm house table – top needs to be refinished – priced $95; Howell stackable fiberglass chairs $40 each
Smithe Craft sofa for $165
This Room & Board sectional from their Clarke Collection retails for just under $3,400 – it’s a light gray color, fabric almost seems like a brushed twill (their website calls it “dustin”) – and it’s really in mint condition! It’s the 98” sofa and the armless sofa. The Jubilee Furniture price is $875
gorgeous side chair for $125
lovely lines and fun button tufted on this loveseat and sofa – both need to be cleaned and there some fabric tears on the sofa and one button is no longer securely anchored. The loveseat is priced $75; sofa is only $50 due to issues already mentioned

fantastic retro chest of drawers that I am in love with priced $135

totally fun animal print sofa in great condition priced $175; matching arm chair for $125
So, that’s the skinny on Jubilee Furniture! Now that I think about it – I should probably add a Q&A page to the blog.
Don’t you love it when you make more work for yourself, dear reader? (Insert a picture of me shaking my head with a bemused smile on my face!)
Blessings!
